If you missed the film, Race to Nowhere, last week (both shows sold out!), the Lark Theater has added a third showing, also featuring a Q&A by the film's director on Tuesday, February 9th at 7:30 pm. The media, Internet, lack of sleep, puberty, friendships, and brain changes are just a few of the factors affecting your child. Come find out what the realities are and what parents can do to help. Berkeley Psychology Professor and author of The Triple Bind: Saving Our Teenage Girls from Today’s Pressures, will lead an insightful discussion. Admission is free. Thursday, February 25th: One morning and one evening event -- Another thought-provoking film "Wasted: The Truth of Underage Drinking in Marin County" will be shown on Thursday, February 25 from 8:30 - 10:00 am in the Larkspur Recreation Department's Community Room (next to Hall.) This short film will be followed by a Q&A session with Gary Najarian, Marin County Alcohol and Drug Prevention Coordinator and Twin Cities Police Officer Patty Monge. Admission is free. Thurs., Feb 25th: the computer continues to change the way we live. Dr. Maryanne Wolf, Tufts University cognitive neuroscientist & child development expert, will describe the impact of the computer and literacy in the twenty-first century Thurs., Feb 25th from 7:00-8:30pm at Marin Primary Multi-Purpose Room. $10 donation requested.
