Excerpts from The Hall Weekly Bulletin - March 10, 2008
Principal's Message : Mr. Norbutas

Successful Seasons

The Marin County Middle School basketball league regular season came to a close last week.  Hall fielded three teams this season, and one of them is moving on to the playoffs.  Our sixth grade boys’ team, under the guidance of Jason Ward, had a strong finish to the season with a close game against Davidson Middle School.  Our team, consisting of a number of fifth graders, showed tremendous growth and great courage throughout the season.

The seventh grade girls’ team also finished the season with a strong performance against Davidson. Coach Steve Johnston shared that he was very pleased with the skill development and improvement he saw with his team.

The sixth grade girls, coached by parent Geoff Martin, are headed to the post season.  His squad built up an impressive 6-2 record and holds the third seed in the playoffs.

Mr. Boone and I had the opportunity to see several games this year, some from the comfort of the bleachers, and some from the action-packed court itself as the official (Mr. Boone), and in each game we were impressed with the competitive spirit, determination and respectful play of our kids.  When watching our kids compete on the court, we were reminded what we love most about working at Hall Middle School.  Every day we have the opportunity to work among and support the best kids in Marin County and beyond.

We would like to give special mention to those parents who took time to provide transportation and ensure that all of our students were able to participate each week.  And a special thanks to the coaches who spent countless hours teaching our students the skills of the game and, perhaps most importantly, respect for the game and their opponents.

Track Coaches Needed

The track and field season is quickly approaching.  Any parent interesting in coaching our students in either track or field events should contact Mr. Boone as soon as possible.
