Site Council Parent Surveys

Every year the School Site Council creates and administers a student and parent survey. This year the Site Council has decided to distribute all of the surveys online.  You will be receiving an email soon through ConnectEd.  This email will contain a link to Surveymonkey.com, the site that hosts the survey.

The survey is completely confidential and important to the ongoing improvement of Hall Middle School. In the survey we seek out your feedback about our academic program, communication, homework load and school climate.  The Site Council gathers the data and identifies patterns and trends.  All of this information is presented to the Board of Trustees and the staff in the spring.

I encourage each of you to take several minutes to take the survey for each of your children at Hall and provide us with valuable information about your perception of the school. Hard copies of the survey are available in the office if you are not able to get online to complete it.

Intervention Plan

This week we will implement a pilot intervention program for students who need additional time on math concepts.  It is part of a larger intervention plan that will attempt to use SSR time to provide a variety of levels of support for students.

In the current pilot program, eight students at each grade level will work twice a week during SSR with peer tutors under the supervision of a teacher. In fifth grade the classroom teachers will provide the direct support twice a week.  It is our goal to expand this program if it is successful.  In the future we hope to offer a range of levels of support based on student need.  We firmly believe that all of our students can meet grade level standards.  We will always explore new and better ways to meet the needs of all of our students.
