Principal's Message & School News

A Special Thank You On Friday, December 21, we were treated to a great staff appreciation lunch.  I wanted to extend a very special thank you to Cougar Crew members Dave Doyle, Kevin Mangan, Dennis Deisinger, Dan Ahern, Bruce Friedricks, and the Hall PTA.  Everyone enjoyed the lunch so much and we appreciate your efforts! Student Performances Mr. Boone and I were reflecting on our two most recent opportunities to see Hall students perform after school.  We both attended Winter Concerts prior to the winter break and watched the first basketball games of the season last week. The Winter Concerts filled the gym with beautiful music from the chorus, intermediate and advanced band, and intermediate and advanced jazz band.  The hard work of the students and their teacher, Mr. Derby was evident in their performances. Basketball season kicked off last week and our teams took to the hardwood against Miller Creek Middle School.  I was pleased to witness the determination and competitive spirit in our students.  Mr. Boone and I have since reflected on his own middle school basketball experiences…and shared story after story after story. T This reminded us both of something we feel is very important - whether our students win or lose, with each dribble, pass and made or missed shot, they are establishing life-long memories. We are impressed by our coaching staff and their focus on basketball skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship.  I would like to recognize and thank our coaches and Hall staff members Steve Johnston and Jason Ward.  And special thanks to parent volunteer, Coach Geoff Martin.  Go Cougars! In last week’s Bulletin, Monica Fitch’s name did not appear correctly in the recognition for Academic Improvement.  We apologize for the error and congratulate her for her great work. - Daniel Norbutas - Hall Principal
